When respondents in the insurance survey were asked how much a $250,000 term life policy for a healthy 30-year-old would cost each year, the median estimate was $500, over three times the actual cost of $160. Millennials in the study, ages 18 to 36, guessed an even higher amount: 44% pegged the cost at $1,000 or more a year, compared with 29% of older respondents, the insurance study said.
No one wants to pay more for Home Insurance than they have to, especially in a state like Florida where homeowners insurance has a few unique things to consider.
What affects your life insurance premiums? These factors all contribute to how much of a risk you are to insurance companies and therefore, how high your premium may be.
There will be two Insurance Villages this week, which will include MOST of our carriers. An insurance village, is simply a group of insurance companies, bringing in their mobile response teams in one place a village to answer questions, open claims, etc
Dishonest contractors pressure unsuspecting homeowners into signing contracts that include these Assignment of Benefits (AOB) clauses. What you want to look for are phrases like, "I transfer and assign any and all insurance rights, benefits and causes of action under my property insurance policy to the contractor" or something along those lines.

Every year I have the pleasure of leading a team to the Dominican Republic to work in the small rural village of Hato Del Yaque. This community is rampant with drugs, prostitution, and children who are on the streets because of absentee parents. Our team of 29 adults and children just returned from the 2014 trip, which included a construction project and outreach to the children. This year for the first time the trip also included a medical clinic.
The Culbertson Agency is proud to be the official sponsor of the 26th Annual Southwest Florida Toy Drive. Would you partner with us to make a real, tangible difference in a child's life this Christmas? Please drop off new, unwrapped toys at our Fort Myers insurance agency or at any Southwest Florida Chick-Fil-A before close of business on December 19th.
Three years ago, husband and wife entrepreneurs Brian and Karen Culbertson and recently married agents David and Kristen Cantoni opened the Culbertson Allstate Insurance Agency in Fort Myers. As a scratch agency, they started with no customers, no accounts and no revenue. Since then their Fort Myers insurance office has become the top producing property and casualty Allstate location in the state of Florida.
I was honored and a little nervous this last week to be interviewed for a story that local news station NBC-2 in Fort Myers was doing titled "Why are your home insurance rates going up?" Like all news stories, my 15-20 minute interview ended up being about 10 seconds worth of sound bites, but I did appreciate that at the end of the message the reporter used my recommendations on what homeowners can do to lower their rates, and that it seemed to be a pretty even sided review of an answer to this so often asked question.
This is one of those things that crops up every year around Christmas because it's the time of year when toy-buying is highest. I can remember being a kid playing on the living room floor with a jump rope and I remember wrapping it around my neck to play like I was wearing it as a kind of necklace when my mom suddenly urged me to take it off because I could strangle myself. This was in the eighties just before the time of the Cabbage Patch Kid doll that would eat little-girls' hair.
Are your kids at risk to receive razor blades in their apples on Halloween? How one man perpetuated an urban legend that continues to this day and how it relates to insurance.

We've got beaches, golf courses, and resort hotels! Given the large number of retirees and snowbirds that call Southwest Florida their home for half the year, a staycation in the Naples area makes a lot of sense. Naples is a great option for having a staycation given the myriad of things to see, eat, and do in the area.
The Culbertson Agency has put together a list of the best things to do in Cape Coral on a staycation. Whether it's boating, fishing, kayaking, or camping, Cape Coral has many opportunities for fun and recreation.
