Florida Agency Owner Brian Culbertson Named Finalist for

Top National Volunteer Award

Fort Myers entrepreneur is a finalist for the Ray Lynch Award and earns a $2,000

Foundation grant to donate to the charity of his choice

Fort Myers, Fla. (March 25, 2015) – Fort Myers entrepreneur Brian Culbertson has spent the last five years pulling double duty. By day he runs his agency helping customers and residents of Southwest Florida with insurance solutions for their household. Away from the office you’ll find Culbertson helping to organize and lead mission trips to the Dominican Republic, running his T-shirt business, SaltTee, that gives away 100 percent of its profits, volunteering with the Pine Manor community, feeding the homeless downtown, working with youth, and serving at his church.

For his outstanding contributions and volunteer efforts, Culbertson has been named a finalist for the 2015 Ray Lynch Award – their top national honor recognizing an agency owner for the way he or she gives back to, and makes a difference in their community.

“I am truly honored to receive this award,” said Culbertson. “Do to others as you would have them do to you …in our office culture, this motto isn’t the most important thing, it’s the only thing” asserts Culbertson.  Culbertson says he gets this “golden rule” from a verse in the Bible (Luke 6:31) and includes it on the back of the agencies business cards as a continuous reminder to his team and their customers.  “We extend this motto not only to our customers but our community as a whole.  If we place ourselves in the shoes of others and think about how we’d want to be treated, it creates action on our part to love and serve them.”

The Ray Lynch Award is dedicated to the memory of former agent Ray Lynch of Fayetteville, N.C. Lynch built a successful agency around a remarkable record of service to his family, church, and community. During his 32 years as an agent, Lynch earned many company honors. In 1999, Lynch passed away. Inspired by his leadership, they created this community service award in his honor.

As a finalist, Culbertson receives a $2,000 grant from The Foundation that he is donating to one of the organizations he supports.
