“Spring is nature’s way of saying, let’s party.” I am not quite sure I agree with Robin Williams when he said that. Let’s be honest, the first thing we think of, besides the beauty of nature, is SPRING CLEANING. Yuck! The only two people I could imagine hosting a party in celebration of cleaning are Danny Tanner and Mr. Clean (And they are fictional).
Whether you have just moved to Southwest Florida or if you are a renter who is getting ready to take the home buyer plunge, one thing that is likely in the back of your mind (besides staying in your budget) is finding the right neighborhood for you. This is a huge factor, in some cases, for determining the success of your move and how long you stay in one location. If you are like me, you want to do it as little as possible.
We all have different tastes, lifestyles, and needs so there is no best neighborhood to magically tell you about. The key to finding “your best neighborhood” is to evaluate and jot down what is important to you. Remember, one person’s paradise may be another person’s nightmare.
You are getting ready to purchase a home, and you hear someone mention Homeowners Insurance… Dun, dun, duuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnn! For many first time buyers, shopping for the best insurance coverage can be a downright scary task. Not only are you worried about finding the dream home that meets your budget, but now you have to think about things like premiums, flood zones, and liability coverage for it too.
Is it really possible that your little bundle of joy will cost you around a quarter of a million dollars even before you send them off to college? If you are thinking of having a child, there are a few things you have to count on being in your future, financially that is. Not to mention the surprises we didn’t count on along the way. Let’s talk about the big things that are definitely going to come our way.
Before we even get to meet our precious baby we have the expected cost of delivery, about $3,200, and also around the same amount to the delivery doctor and prenatal visits if you don’t have insurance. If you are lucky, you will have a perfectly healthy baby and they won’t have to stay in the hospital any longer than you have to. If not, add on a few more thousand to your hospital bill.
Insurance Agent Scott Ehrenfeld on our team has a lot of miles on his 14-year old F-150 (255k and counting). The car still tows his boat and except for his heat not working (which is rarely an issue in Southwest Florida, but funny to see him pull up driving it on the few cold days we have), his car is in excellent working condition.
When asked what has kept his car running so long, Scott simply answers BASIC ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. Here’s a few tips for you to keep your older vehicle in great working condition like Scott.
The Culbertson Agency prides itself in is that we consistently make the top lists in our industry and recently, one of our Naples insurance agents was featured in Five Star Professionals portion of the Gulfshore Magazine.
When food was mysteriously disappearing in the Culbertson family's kitchen, they decided to catch their dog Yogi in the act. After being encouraged to upload the video to America's Funniest Home Videos, Brian Culbertson thought it would never win.
We're giving $1,000 to the Hoops on Mission through a grant from the Allstate Foundation as a part of the Allstate Hands in the Community.

We've got beaches, golf courses, and resort hotels! Given the large number of retirees and snowbirds that call Southwest Florida their home for half the year, a staycation in the Naples area makes a lot of sense. Recently, I visited Belize (neat country by the way) doing some short term mission work with a small team of four guys. One of our projects was to clean a metal roof of an orphanage that had thick black mold growing on it, causing the home to retain heat and not reflect the sun as it should. Keep working. Keep figuring it out. Keep making movement. Develop strategies and new techniques. Don’t give up when you’re tired, and things don’t seem to be going as you’d expect. Before you know it you’ll start to figure it out, and eventually you might just be an expert roof scrubber, or whatever it is you’ve set your mind to achieving.
