Written by Tyler Small
March 09, 2017

We've got beaches, golf courses, and resort hotels! Given the large number of retirees and snowbirds that call Southwest Florida their home for half the year, a staycation in the Naples area makes a lot of sense. Naples is a great option for having a staycation given the myriad of things to see, eat, and do in the area.

Expert Roof Scrubber

Written by Brian Culbertson
March 03, 2016

Recently, I visited Belize (neat country by the way) doing some short term mission work with a small team of four guys. One of our projects was to clean a metal roof of an orphanage that had thick black mold growing on it, causing the home to retain heat and not reflect the sun as it should. Keep working. Keep figuring it out. Keep making movement. Develop strategies and new techniques. Don’t give up when you’re tired, and things don’t seem to be going as you’d expect. Before you know it you’ll start to figure it out, and eventually you might just be an expert roof scrubber, or whatever it is you’ve set your mind to achieving.

Best Movie Theaters in Fort Myers & Naples (Part 2)

Written by Tyler Small
December 17, 2015

This is touted as being the vacation-go-er’s movie theater and an upscale movie going experience. Located in Bonita, it’s near enough to Naples to warrant being upscale to attract the generally upper-scale locals and that’s a good thing if you live in Fort Myers and don’t mind a bit of a drive. The building the theater is one of the better-looking in the area, since it has a bit of a Mediterranean flair to it including an outdoor fire or water fountain where you can sit and enjoy a little time before or after your movie.

Best Movie Theaters in Fort Myers & Naples (Part 1)

If you’re like me, you like great movies, but you also want to see it in a great movie theater where the picture, sound, and theater create a perfect opportunity for the movie to suck you in and get lost in it’s story, characters, and world. As I’m writing this, we’re all anticipating Star Wars: The Force Awakens to take us back a long, long time ago to that galaxy far, far away, so I’ve decided to assemble a list of my favorite movie theaters here in Fort Myers and Naples.

New Years Resolution (Appetizer)

Written by Brian Culbertson
November 19, 2015

Hi, I’m Brian Culbertson, a 40-year old, middle-aged, dad of three girls who was recently diagnosed with high cholesterol and a body weight of slightly above the “ideal,” whatever that means. Frankly, I’m lucky to have a decent metabolism because my eating habits the last few years have been lacking, and while I haven’t exactly been a couch potato, I haven’t exactly been a treadmill tomato either. You see, when I opened my first Allstate insurance agency here in Southwest Florida way back in 2008, I was in the best shape of my adult life. I was working out 5-6 times per week, and I was making mostly good eating choices. But life happens, and somehow here we are 7-years later, 25 pounds heavier, and cholesterol steadily rising.

Blue Moon Pizza in Fort Myers (review)

Written by Brian Culbertson
July 18, 2014

I am always on a quest to find the best pizza joints in Fort Myers. In 2013, I wrote a Top Ten Pizza Restaurants in Fort Myers as we set out to come up with at least an introductory list of top spots based results of a fan poll on our Facebook Fan Page.

Recently a friend, knowing I’m a huge pizza connoisseur, recommended we try Blue Moon Pizza on College Parkway about five minutes from our agency here in south Fort Myers. I just finished, and now sitting in my office pleasantly stuffed and let me just say … it did not disappoint and may now officially be my favorite pizza spot in Fort Myers.

Ten Ways to Create Engaging Facebook Content

Written by Brian Culbertson
March 07, 2014

Recently I was asked to speak at a national conference for insurance agents in Las Vegas about creating engaging content and posts for Facebook business pages. The company I partner with tracks these sorts of things and takes notice when a page is getting a lot of engagement. While I feel vastly under-qualified to speak on this topic and have no training in this area, I began to look back over the past year at posts that got a significant amount of engagement. I was able to come up with ten ways that our agency has been able to create engagement with our customers and friends on Facebook.engagement with our customers and friends through our insurance agencies business page on Facebook.
