How to Protect Your Car from Love Bugs

Written by Tyler Small
May 10, 2018

The best thing that you can do to protect your vehicle is to prevent the damage in the first place. If the bug acid has already done some damage, you will HAVE to paint; there’s simply no way around it. Don’t waste your money on paint repair kits. They will help, but they will not give perfect results. As a matter of fact, paint repair kits—like touch-up paints—won’t come anywhere close to looking good. It’s better to protect your paint than repair it.

Top 12 Causes of Death in the U.S.

Written by Tyler Small
April 06, 2018

For more than 30 years, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been collecting and examining causes of death. The CDC says that they collect and study this information for purposes of determining resources regarding healthcare, but we can also take these statistics to help make our lives better. I was surprised to see that the top 2 account for about 47% (that's almost HALF!) of the causes of deaths in the United States.

Why Millennials Can't Afford to Miss Out on Life Insurance

Written by Tyler Small
February 16, 2018

When respondents in the insurance survey were asked how much a $250,000 term life policy for a healthy 30-year-old would cost each year, the median estimate was $500, over three times the actual cost of $160. Millennials in the study, ages 18 to 36, guessed an even higher amount: 44% pegged the cost at $1,000 or more a year, compared with 29% of older respondents, the insurance study said.

Expert Roof Scrubber

Written by Brian Culbertson
March 03, 2016

Recently, I visited Belize (neat country by the way) doing some short term mission work with a small team of four guys. One of our projects was to clean a metal roof of an orphanage that had thick black mold growing on it, causing the home to retain heat and not reflect the sun as it should. Keep working. Keep figuring it out. Keep making movement. Develop strategies and new techniques. Don’t give up when you’re tired, and things don’t seem to be going as you’d expect. Before you know it you’ll start to figure it out, and eventually you might just be an expert roof scrubber, or whatever it is you’ve set your mind to achieving.

Best Movie Theaters in Fort Myers & Naples (Part 2)

Written by Tyler Small
December 17, 2015

This is touted as being the vacation-go-er’s movie theater and an upscale movie going experience. Located in Bonita, it’s near enough to Naples to warrant being upscale to attract the generally upper-scale locals and that’s a good thing if you live in Fort Myers and don’t mind a bit of a drive. The building the theater is one of the better-looking in the area, since it has a bit of a Mediterranean flair to it including an outdoor fire or water fountain where you can sit and enjoy a little time before or after your movie.

If you’re like me, you like great movies, but you also want to see it in a great movie theater where the picture, sound, and theater create a perfect opportunity for the movie to suck you in and get lost in it’s story, characters, and world. As I’m writing this, we’re all anticipating Star Wars: The Force Awakens to take us back a long, long time ago to that galaxy far, far away, so I’ve decided to assemble a list of my favorite movie theaters here in Fort Myers and Naples.

New Years Resolution (Appetizer)

Written by Brian Culbertson
November 19, 2015

Hi, I’m Brian Culbertson, a 40-year old, middle-aged, dad of three girls who was recently diagnosed with high cholesterol and a body weight of slightly above the “ideal,” whatever that means. Frankly, I’m lucky to have a decent metabolism because my eating habits the last few years have been lacking, and while I haven’t exactly been a couch potato, I haven’t exactly been a treadmill tomato either. You see, when I opened my first Allstate insurance agency here in Southwest Florida way back in 2008, I was in the best shape of my adult life. I was working out 5-6 times per week, and I was making mostly good eating choices. But life happens, and somehow here we are 7-years later, 25 pounds heavier, and cholesterol steadily rising.
