Michael Beason

Where did you grow up and how long have you lived here?
I grew up in Kansas City. I am big Chiefs and Royals fan. I worked for the Royals while in college. We moved in 2005, and are very happy to escape the Midwest winters

Are you married? Have any kids?
I have been married to the most amazing woman for 21 years. I have 3 incredible children ages 19, 16, 12. We love sports, watching movies together, and trying new restaurants

What are some activities that you like doing on the weekends when you’re not doing insurance?
If I was alone, you could find me playing golf. If I am with my wife, we would look for a new restaurant, and a Broadway show. If it’s the whole family, we may find a baseball game, or head to the beach and watch the sunset. There is a very good chance you could find us at a cheer competition, or a basketball tournament.

Do you have any pets? What are they and what are their names?
Yes we have 2 dogs, Tebow & Molly. They are both rescue dogs, that make us laugh everyday. We would not be complete without them. We also have a bearded dragon named Blue. He primarily sunbathes and eats crickets.

If you could have any one superpower, which would you choose?
I would love the ability to time travel. I think it would be incredible to visit different periods in our worlds history. It would be amazing to travel to the Roman Empire, the discovery of America, and any major sporting event I wanted to relive.

What was the last book you read? What did you enjoy about it?
I enjoy reading different books. One that had a impact on me, that I would recommend is called The 5000 Year Leap. If I were to suggest a fictional book, it would be The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings. My wife and I love that trilogy, and could sit and watch that if we ever had time to “veg” out. That is on our to-do list 🙂

Who do you turn to for advice?
A good fortune cookie can make your day, but in all honesty, the person I turn to for advice is my father and 2 brothers. I come from a very close family, and value their insight and life experiences.

What’s your favorite quote and who said it?
I am a huge sports fan, and have always admired Lou Holtz. He wrote a book called “Winning Every Day”. A quote from his book, Speak with Passion, Foster Trust, & Commit to Excellence, is a philosophy I have tried to incorporate into my professional life. A chapter from the bible that gives daily encouragement is Psalms chapter 25.
